Have you ever wanted to live and work in paradise? We have it waiting for you!

Cindy and I like to take things that don’t work too well and turn them into well-oiled machines. December of 2009 landed us in Cedar Key with a monumental task in front of us. Turn a run-down motel/rv park into something that people would actually want to visit. Along the way we built a Tiki Bar out of left over items washed up along the shore and bottles we put back with friends and visitors.

Looking at it from the outside, you’d have thought it was impossible. But we like a serious challenge and accepted it with open arms. Cedar Key is a diamond in the rough and was the perfect location to allow our artistic talents to bloom. It took us over 5 years to accomplish our goal, and now that we’ve brought it up to our standards, it’s time to move onto something more challenging. (We don’t know what that next challenge is yet, we’ll have to go find it 🙂 )

Call us crazy, call us insane, call us stupid (We’ve been called all of those time and time again) but don’t call us a couple that likes to sit still or isn’t up for a challenge. We tend to pull the rug out from under our own feet every 5-8 years and have done just that continuously since we’ve met. Neither of us can figure out why we do these antics, but we keep doing them, and for us, it keeps life a never ending adventure.

So with a very heavy heart and after weeks of second guessing ourselves, we’ve put the Low-Key Hideaway on the real estate market. We’re selling it as a Turn-Key business…… Motel/RV Park/Tiki Bar which includes the liquor license and our Subaru Outback Wagon for you to roll around town in. If you throw in a little bit more, you can have the houseboat. All you need to do is bring your ‘A’ Game to Cedar Key, sit back and enjoy the good life.

We’ve done all the hard work for you. The rooms are 100% remodeled and kept up to date with top-notch furnishings, artwork and fixtures. Everything runs like a top, we’re not selling this to run away from anything, if we are to stay, it’ll run this way for years to come.

The business has earned numerous awards from Trip Advisor, been rated at the top for 5 years in a row, won business of the year from the Cedar Key Chamber of Commerce, been featured in numerous national and international travel magazines and articles….you name it, we’ve put it on a platter for you. We have a fully functioning Website that receives an enormous amount of traffic. We’re the top rated motel in Cedar Key. We have a very loyal customer base and we still have travel pieces waiting to be aired which will further strengthen our tourism presence.

The Tiki Bar is an attraction of its own. It brings visitors from all around the country/world to bathe in the monumental sunsets it offers. It has loads of potential to grow….for the right buyer, the sky is the limit (When you buy it, I will gladly tell you how I’d expand if I were to stay). We’ve always kept it small simply because it’s only the 3 of us running the entire business. Bring on some more employees and you can grow to whatever your potential might be. If you want to live comfortably like we do, then stay this size and just sit back and ride the gravy train.

We’ve bought the empty piece of property beside us so your RV’s sites can be more than doubled. All the permitting and hard part has been done for you.

What are you waiting for? Florida is booming right now and breaking records each year with its tourism numbers. We’ve built your next business for you, come live and work in paradise.

Please do not contact me for details. We have listed the property with Brad Smith whose contact info is listed below.

My wife Shoshaunna and I really enjoyed our stay there a couple of years ago. Hate to see you two moving on. We’ll be keeping an eye on EMaM site to see what’s next. Might it involve ocean front property in Mexico? Best to you and Cindy!

    • Pat BonishMay 24, 2015 at 2:15 pm #

That’s ALWAYS in the back of our minds Mark! We talk about it almost to the point of obsession

It was our dream for the past five years too Magen….so it can now be your destiny

We are coming to visit family in Cape Coral and wanted to celebrate our 20th Anniversary with you guys!! Really check it out first hand, July 14th week. We would love to learn more and really see if it’s a fit:)

        • Pat BonishMay 28, 2015 at 6:44 pm #

Come on out. But make reservations early, we’re small, and tend to book up fast

  10. Larry BurnsMay 23, 2015 at 8:59 pm #

You guys have done great things at LKH and you’ve made the place almost too popular. I tried to get in the campground this weekend and it was full so now I have to see if we can get in on our way back to Ocala next month. Since we are full-timing now (and that’s your fault) we will have more opportunity to visit – hopefully before you move on to the next big thing!

    • Pat BonishMay 24, 2015 at 2:19 pm #

I’m proud to claim the fault in you Full-Timing Larry!!

So glad to follow along with your travels

  11. Shea and PamMay 23, 2015 at 11:13 pm #

Sorry to hear you’ll be leaving but I understand the reason completely! There are so many opportunies out there for young energetic folks like you both. I just hope you’ll find the right persons to keep the Low Key up to the standard you have it! Happy Adventuring!!

    • Pat BonishMay 24, 2015 at 2:20 pm #

That’s our biggest fear Shea and Pam…We only hope whom ever takes it over will have as much love for it as Cindy and I do.

I agree that there is so much opportunity out there, and our creative minds always keep us searching for something new to coddle

  12. Don and Mary AnnMay 23, 2015 at 11:13 pm #

Sounds like a great idea! We wish you all the best and look forward to seeing where life takes you. Keep it simple and take good care of each other.
    Safe travels..

    • Pat BonishMay 24, 2015 at 2:21 pm #

Thanks Don & Mary Ann!! Taking good care of one another is always our top priority. Below that is having fun as you too know all too well

I think we need a Key West Visit 🙂

  13. Andrea SmrticMay 23, 2015 at 11:55 pm #

Sorry to hear you guys are moving on, but not at all surprised, I get the 7 year itch myself; but you two ARE the Low Key Hideaway. No if ands or buts about it! What a loss to the Cedar Key community. Best of luck in the next spot your travels take you. I know you’ll keep us posted! xxoo

    • Pat BonishMay 24, 2015 at 2:27 pm #

Thank you Andrea. Although we’ve built the LKH to what it is, I think a energetic couple can keep the flame going and grow it to its full potential.

I’m so glad that everyone understands the need to move on and move forward. As a fellow artist, and artists are who we seem to befriend the most, I think we all understand that a very creative mind is one that cannot sit still for very long

  14. Paul DahlMay 24, 2015 at 1:33 am #

Wow, looks like we made our visit to meet you both just in the nick of time!

Best of luck in your next adventure. You can be sure we’ll be following along! :c)

    • Pat BonishMay 24, 2015 at 2:28 pm #

Thank you Paul!! Maybe our paths will cross along the trail at some point. We did not have enough time to share the many stories I’m sure we both have. I’d love to hear more about your Coastie Stories

  15. Jodee GravelMay 24, 2015 at 2:33 am #

Wooo, mixed emotions for sure! Sorry you won’t be there when we come, and super excited to see what you two get up to next 🙂 Some lucky person(s) will gain a treasure.

    • Pat BonishMay 24, 2015 at 2:30 pm #

Thanks Jodee! Believe me it’s Mixed Emotions for us too. It’s the equivalent of watching your child leave home. You know it has to happen, but you’re scared shitless and excited for what’s next to come

  16. MomMay 24, 2015 at 3:28 pm #

This comes as no big surprise to Dad & I as we know you two are happiest when traveling &/or working on a new adventure. Can’t wait to discover where it will take you. Your experiences have opened the window of this world to all who read your blogs & follow along with your dreams but are too afraid to step out on their own. Thank you for all the sights you bring us. We still miss seeing you & our home is always open to you. Love Mum

    • Pat BonishMay 25, 2015 at 2:36 pm #

Thanks Mom, it’s because of never ending love and support from you and Dad that drive Cindy and I to work so hard so we can keep going out and living life to the fullest!

      Love You So Much!!

  17. Glenn ArnetteMay 24, 2015 at 10:35 pm #

Shocked to hear your news. Thrilled to know that you have a new adventure facing you in the future. When we left Florida it was the best thing we have ever done. Our home in the North Carolina mountains gave us a new life, and new friends. We wish you the same and praise your hard word in Cedar Key. Come sit on our porch and dream with us. You will not believe our sunrises over our 12 mountain range view at 3000 feet.

  22. John and Carla DysartMay 28, 2015 at 7:27 pm #

    Pat and Cindy,
Thanks for all the good times! You will be missed! Your Tiki Bar was always the highlight of our trips to the festivals in Cedar Key.
I know you remember my husband and the rest of my travel companions, Glenn and Stephen and John and Terri. My husband, John , was helpful in encouraging others to drink your signature cocktail. When you would make them, you would give him the left-overs.
We had a lot of laughs and a lot of remarkable sunsets at your unique place. We are sorry to see you go, but, if you must, we wish you the very best on your next challenge.
    Take care,

    • Pat BonishMay 28, 2015 at 7:31 pm #

Thank you so much Carla! You and your group was always a highlight of the festivals. Walking in with all your blinky gadgets and making the entire crowd laugh was always a good memory

Thanks again and we hope to cross paths at some unknown tiki bar in the future 🙂
