When we realize our insignificance in this world,
it some how relieves the pressures from society to succeed -

Into the Wild
A Masterpiece by Sean Penn
Paramount Advantage Films

I couldn’t wait for this movie to come out on DVD. I have read the book 3 times and have come away from it each time with a different idea of why anyone would go do such a thing as Chris McCandless did.

A young man leaving college and going out into life on his own. Leaving everything behind…all material possessions just to see if he can make it on his own. No one really knows why he did the things he did, but Emile Hirsch who plays McCandless does an outstanding job of making you understand what was going through this young mans head during the last few adventurous years of his life.

Sean Penn did such an outstanding job with directing this story originally written by Jon Krakauer, that I think for once, I liked the movie better than the book. Penn followed the story perfectly and had the McCandless family at his side throughout the entire filming process to keep the story authentic.

Remember before you watch this DVD, it doesn’t end well, but life doesn’t always end the way we had it planned, and sometimes when you realize that Happiness needs to be shared to be enjoyed, it might just be too late as in the case with Chris McCandless.

This DVD is outstanding and I’d recommend it with very high regards to anyone.
