When we
realize our insignificance in this world,
it some how relieves the
pressures from society to succeed -

Planet Earth
The Best Cinematography to Date!
Discovery Channel
I’ve been watching these
DVD’s for a few weeks now, and all I can say is “WOW!” Forget anything
you think you know about our small planet and the fascinating creatures
that call it home.
I remember when this series was on the cable channel and I would try and
catch every episode. To own the Box Set and be able to watch it at will,
is one of my favorite past times. The best part about it is after each
program, each DVD has 3 or 4 programs on it and there are 6 DVD’s in
all, they will show you a behind the scenes look at how they made the
series. This is just amazing at what these photographers put themselves
through to get these truly stunning shots.
At one point, a camera man is waist deep in bat guano crawling through a
cave. One camera man sat in the jungle for a week just to get a shot
never before seen of a unique bird dancing its mating ritual. The
dedication and determination these men and women went through to get
these shots make the series all that much more enjoyable to watch.
I know I've watched
the behind the scenes stuff more than the movies themselves. I
keep asking myself how many times I can see these DVD before I get bored
with them, but it doesn't seem to be happening.
For anyone who enjoys nature photography, this is the Box Set to own.
