When You Think You’ve Seen Everything
I would consider myself very well traveled. It’s rare for me to see something that stops me in my tracks. But you never know what you’re going to see on the streets here in Cedar Key.
A few days ago, I’m working out in front of the motel, and I think I see a guy coming towards me on a Segway. No big deal, we’ve all seen Segway’s tooling down the road, but something looked irregular about this one which made me stop and look again.
Ian, a Canadian Snow Bird that is wintering in Cedar Key, I’d met a few nights ago in the Tiki Bar. We talked for some time and exchanged travel stories about various places we both like to visit. Ian lives out of his RV during the winter months escaping the tundra that the Great White North offers this time of year.
His select mode of transportation while parked in a campsite is his Segway. Ian also happens to have two small Border Collies that like to go out and explore with him. So he fabricated some small Igloo Coolers onto the fenders of his Segway for the dogs to ride in. If that isn’t the cutest thing you’ve ever seen, as he passes by and I see the back side of the coolers, I notice that Ian even cut out the coolers so the dogs tails can hang out and they fit more comfortably inside their panniers.
