What a Start to the New Year

Happy New Year, even though its really late to be saying that, but this is my first post of 2017, so I felt like it was a fitting opening.

We made it through December, the Christmas holiday, celebrated New Years Eve with an epic party here at Bonish Studio, then settled into a new year with much to do around our little hamlet of Cedar Key. Cindy and I recently snuck away for a week with our good friends Heath and Jolie to relax, recuperate and take in some beautiful scenery on a cruise for Heath’s birthday.

It seemed that over the Christmas holidays the four of us, like almost every other human I know caught a cold that seemed impossible to shake. So unlike our last cruise that was filled with dancing, partying and absorbing every bar, restaurant, dance floor and activity the ship offers, this one was the polar opposite. We caught up on sleep, I read 5 books and spent the majority of the time on the ship just lounging around enjoying the much needed rest. And believe me it was much needed.

The shore excursions included Ziplining through the mountainside of Roatan, snorkeling in the Caribbean Ocean, lazy days spent sipping cocktails on a secluded beach in Costa Maya, Mexico, tubing through a cave in Belize…..it’s quite the way to ring in 2017 and was exactly what we all needed to get rid of that nasty cold.

And now we go back to work. Dont feel sorry for us, our work is not the typical 9-5 work some dread. Although we do spend long days at the Studio, its shared with people enjoying their vacations, buying a new piece of artwork to hang in their house or just stop in to share a story at the bar in the studio.  And there are always our day trips around this beautiful state of ours with friends who visit or photographing beautiful models or romantic weddings, so even though it’s work, it’s still fun.

I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
